Bluetooth
Serial Adapter Released
Stollmann has now released Version
1.3 of its BlueRS+ Bluetooth
serial adapter. This device
permits wireless interconnection
of any devices featuring a serial
port, without any modification to
the software.
BlueRS+ works in several
connection modes. In automatic
mode, a specific connection is
preconfigured, replacing the
serial connection in a manner that
is transparent to the application.
For making specific connections
from the terminal device on a
case-by-case basis, the BlueRS+
supports a number of AT commands.
The remote device can either be
another BlueRS+ or a different
type of Bluetooth adapter, e.g. a
BluePCMCIA PC card, that supports
the Serial Port profile.
BlueRS+ is available as an
external or internal device. Its
range is approximately 10 m/33 ft.
A version with a range of 100
m/330 ft is currently under
development.
