INVENTEL has received the Bluetooth 1.1 and CE qualifications for BlueDSL, its long range Bluetooth access point with an inbuilt ADSL modem.

Paris, January 2002 - INVENTEL, specialist in the design and manufacturing of wireless products, received the Bluetooth 1.1 and CE qualifications for BlueDSL, its long range Bluetooth access point that includes an ADSL router. This certifies that the product can be sold in the European countries and brings a perfect Bluetooth 1.1 interoperability.

INVENTEL has been developing its Bluetooth access points since 1999 and became an Associate Member of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group in 2000.

BlueDSL, the first product from INVENTEL to be qualified, allows Bluetooth enabled devices to communicate seamlessly between themselves in a radius of 100 m and gives them a permanent Internet connection via an ADSL line.  The product has also been formally appraised with a nomination for the ‘Best Consumer Product or Application’ at the Bluetooth Congress 2001 Awards.

Ideally suited for the SoHo (small office/home office) and Residential markets, BlueDSL is aimed at bringing Internet access, interconnection and enhancement in the use of other Bluetooth Products.  Already, products such as laptops, webpad’s, cell phones and PDA’s are working with BlueDSL and thanks to its open architecture, its Bluetooth 1.1 qualification and its software upgradeable operating system, BlueDSL will keep proposing optimal interoperability capacities.

The open architecture of BlueDSL can also welcome specific services developed by third parties.

BlueDSL also exists in a LAN access point version that includes the Ethernet and USB link but has no ADSL modem. This version is named EtherBlue.

BlueDSL is available for ordering on Inventel website at www.inventel.com.

Henri-Nicolas OLIVIER, CEO of INVENTEL, confirms that “This success clearly demonstrates INVENTEL’s engineering skills and our commitment to manufacture the best access points based on the Bluetooth technology.  Our history is one of a reactive and innovative nature and Bluetooth was the next natural step in the wireless communications market.”
