"Cordless Telecommunications Worldwide" is a comprehensive 536page reference work, encompassing the  technology and commercial origins of the cordless telephony and data business as it emerged in the mid 1990s..  Pre-dating the Bluetooth market, the book  includes several chapters explicitly devoted to the fundamentals of short range wireless, including DECT,  describing the rationale for profiles and implementation issues.  Much of the technology and concepts of DECT  has been subsequently been adopted and built upon by the Bluetooth industry. An excellent primer and reference for those new to the short range wireless industry.
